The mission of Open Doors Community School is to equip students for improved academic achievement as they unlock their promise through an integrated focus on academics, life preparation skills and family/community engagement. A community school has an integrated focus on academics, health care, social services, youth and community development and community engagement that leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.
Open Doors Community School, Inc. (ODCS) was created by Arizona Youth Partnership (www.azyp.org) as a subsidiary nonprofit to pursue charter to operate a community school in the Town of Marana. ODCS is a natural progression of AzYP’s 20 years of education and prevention efforts in rural and under served communities across Arizona. Open Doors Community School was awarded a charter by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools on January 23, 2012. We are currently registering K-4th grade students for the 2013-14 school year.
